Paul “Smokey” McCune, 63, died April 14 at Briarfield Ashley Place.

Paul was born in Butler on March 21, 1952, the son of the late Paul W. and Mary E. Gould McCune.

Paul lived most of his life in Chicora and was a graduate of Karns City High School. In his early years he loved fishing and hunting. He enjoyed being outdoors, reading the newspaper and tinkering with vehicles with his best friend, his pet dog, “Ollie,” always at his side.

Paul was an independent truck driver.

He was greatly loved by family and many friends.

Surviving are his son, Shawn McCune of Chicora; his daughter, Amanda (Amy) Bump and Robert Maravola of Butler; brother, Charles (Debbie) McCune of Karns City; three sisters, Mary (Charles) Rottman of Karns City, Dolly (Sam) Pistorias and Betty (John) Craig, both of Chicora; two grandchildren Shane and Seth Bump; nephew, Randy Pistorius; other nieces and nephews; and several friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Jennifer McCune, and his sister, Joan Blasko.

MCCUNE — Memorial services for Paul “Smokey” McCune, who died Tuesday, April 14, 2015, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday with a brunch to follow the service at the Venture Church, 7872 Glenwood Ave, Youngstown, Ohio 44512, with the Rev. Nathan Doyle officiating.Matthew W. Conley Funeral Home, Youngstown, Ohio, in charge of arrangements.
