Butler PoliceFriday — Police charged Allison A. Zang, 20, of Butler in connection with the theft of a deck chair and other items taken from a porch in the 200 block of Second Street this month. Along with the chair, taken from Maureen Coy’s home on April 16 or 17 was a flower pot and a stone heart decoration. The stolen property is valued at $50.Coy told police she drove around town looking for items and found them outside Zang’s home on Standard Avenue, according to court documents.“The victim has had problems with Zang before,” a police affidavit said.Police said Coy’s missing property was found on the suspect’s back porch. Zang, who claimed the items were there when she moved into the home, is charged with receiving stolen property.10:03 p.m. Thursday — Gerald K. Honeycutt Jr., 38, of Butler was caught with a painkiller for which he did not have a prescription, following a traffic stop on North Elm Street. Officers stopped Honeycutt’s car for having a broken head light and taillight, court documents said.Both side mirrors were also missing, and officers learned that Honeycutt’s driver’s license was suspended.A search of the vehicle turned up a pill of hydrocodone that was inside the front door pocket, documents said.Honeycutt is charged with possession of a controlled substance and driving during suspension.

Butler Twp. Police10:15 a.m. April 20 — Two people were hurt in a four-vehicle wreck on Route 8 south near the Burger King restaurant. The crash happened when a tractor-trailer driven by Michael Lutzo, 59, of Union City, Erie County, sideswiped the pickup truck that James Goldbach, 69, of Chicora was driving.The collision caused Goldbach to lose control of his pickup and hit the back of a car driven by Kurt Rishor, 64, of Butler. In turn, a car driven by Dianna Wise-Crites, 39, of Butler struck the side of the pickup.Wise-Crites and Jane Goldbach, 65, of Chicora, a passenger in the pickup, were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.9:38 a.m. Friday — Kenneth G. Pagan, 24, of Butler was hurt when the vehicle he was driving ran a red light and struck another vehicle at Route 8 south and McCalmont Road.Pagan, who suffered a minor injury, was cited for the traffic light violation and for failing to notify authorities of change of address. Theresa Kriberney, 33, of Butler was the other driver.

Grove City PoliceMonday — A suspect tried to force in a rear door of a home on the 900 block of Sunset Avenue. The attempted overnight burglary failed. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.Monday — A woman’s wallet was taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 500 block of Superior Street. The wallet was later found in the alley but was missing cash and gift cards. The theft happened between 10 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 a.m. Monday.Thursday — Unspecified property was stolen in a burglary at a home in the 600 block of Euclid Avenue. Police believe the crime happened between 8:25 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to call police.1:15 p.m. Wednesday — Nicholas A Robinson, 19, of Grove City was arrested after he was found with a red and black wrist watch that was reported stolen April 21. Robinson, who was caught at a business near South Center and West Main streets, is charged with receiving stolen property.

State Police, Butler9:40 p.m. Tuesday — A suspected hit-and-driver in a dark, 2007 or newer Dodge Ram pickup truck crashed into the back of a vehicle on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township. Both vehicles were in the left northbound lane.Following the crash, the unknown suspect drove onto the grass median and fled northbound. The other driver, Justin Black, 23, of Slippery Rock, was not hurt but his vehicle was damaged and had to be towed away.The pickup is described as having an Ohio license plate with a blue light on the back near the plate, a lifted frame with large tires and a loud exhaust. Police said the pickup is believed to have been seen frequently seen in the Slippery Rock area.The truck may have damage to the front end and passenger side due to the crash. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.12:30 p.m. Sunday — A car driven by Michael G. Stehle, 36, of Pittsburgh struck a sport utility vehicle on Route 528 south of Whitestown Road in Connoquenessing Township. Stehle did not stop. Later he returned to the scene and provided insurance and other information to the other driver, Linda J. Moody, 56, of Valencia.Police cited Stehle for careless driving and improperly passing another vehicle.1:30 a.m. Sunday — Someone smashed a window in a fit of anger after being asked to leave a gathering at an apartment on Harmony Road in Slippery Rock Township.Friday — Benjamin H. Rhinehart, 19, of Beaver Falls, Beaver County, was caught after allegedly getting into a 23-year-old woman’s purse at The Heights parking lot on Route 172 in Slippery Rock Township. He is accused of taking an Apple iPod and $60 from a purse.Police said security officers at the housing complex caught the suspect, who was turned over to police. He was intoxicated when found, according to a police report.Rhinehart is charged with theft from a vehicle, receiving stolen property and underage drinking.

State Police, Kittanning9:55 p.m. Saturday — Larry Dean Matthews, 34, of Worthington was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after a suspected hit-and-run crash on Route 422 in West Franklin Township.Thursday — A burglar cut and stole several feet of copper piping from a home on Painter Avenue in Ford Cliff. The break-in happened between April 9 and Thursday.

State Police, Mercer9:12 a.m. Monday — A South Carolina man is accused of violating a woman’s protection from abuse order after calling her on the phone several times at her home on Route 19 in Springfield Township. The suspect, Dale G. Weimert, 23, of Swansea, faces a charge of indirect criminal contempt.Monday — A burglar made off with a battery charger from a home on Nutt Road in Pine Township, Mercer County. The break-in happened between Jan. 1 and Monday.
