Art Center offers ‘Wheels!’

The next exhibit at the Butler Art Center will be “Anything on Wheels” May 29 to June 19.

Paintings, drawings, photography, digital art, mixed media, collage, and prints of cars, trains, bikes, unicycles, etc., may be submitted.

An opening reception and awards ceremony will be from 7 to 9 p.m. May 29. An encore reception will be held June 12 during the Jeep Parade.

PyroFest fires up

WORTH TWP — PyroFest is planned for 5 to 11 p.m. Friday and 3 to 11 p.m. Saturday at Cooper’s Lake Campground, 205 Currie Road.

It will feature both day and nighttime pyrotechnic displays, live music, a Kid’s Zone and food. Tickets are available at 800-854-4705 or at pyrofest.com.

Zelie to mark 175th anniversary

ZELIENOPLE — Zelienople’s 175th anniversary celebration May 26 to 30 will feature a performance by the Harmony-Zelienople Band at 7 p.m. May 28 at the James A. Ayres Amphitheater in Zelienople Community Park. Visitors should take lawn chairs.

“Zelienople Past, Present and Future,” will begin at 7:30 p.m. May 28 at the Passavant Abundant Life Center. The event will be presented by the Zelienople Historical Society with a performance by the Seneca Valley Girls Choir.

New children’s theater planned

PITTSBURGH — As a new Children’s Theater Series and Festival, the Bridge Theater Series will feature productions staged by national and international companies.

The inaugural season will include shows based on popular books, current issues and historical events. Shows start in November at various sites in Pittsburgh’s Cultural District. For information, visit www.TrustArts.org.

Canoe event upcoming

WORTH TWP — The eighth annual Western Pennsylvania Solo Canoe Rendezvous will be June 5, 6 and 7 at Cooper’s Lake Campground, 205 Currie Road.

It will bring together more than a half dozen canoe manufacturers. There will be classes, demonstrations, displays and test paddling on the lake.

Hours are 4 to 9 p.m. June 5, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. June 6, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 7. For information, visit wpascr.org.
