Carnegie Museum of Art — “Visiting Van Gogh: Still Life, Basket of Apples” will continue through July 6 at the Carnegie Museum of Art, 4400 Forbes Avenue. This oil by Vincent van Gogh was painted in 1887.

Harmony Museum, 218 Mercer St., Harmony, offers tours from 1 to 4 p.m. daily except when the museum is closed Mondays. Admission is $7 for adults, $6 for senior citizens, and $3 for youths ages 6 to 17. Call 724-452-7341.

The Old Stone House will again have “Foodways Programs,” a series of summer-fall cooking classes. Classes run 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bake oven classes are available June 20, July 18, Aug. 15 and Sept. 19. Drake Well Museum, 202 Museum Lane, Titusville, will host a look-alike contest on June 6 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Pennsylvania’s oil boomtown. The opening event of the celebration, Wildcatter Day at Pithole, will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Pithole Historic Site, 14118 Pithole Road. The look-alike contest is free and open to men and women of all ages. Contestants should resemble The Rev. Darius Steadman, Mrs. Steadman, Ben Hogan or Pauline Rudolph. Photos and biographies of each of these historic Pithole figures are available on the Drake Well Museum Facebook page in the look-alike photo album. Meadowcroft Rockshelter and Historic Village, 401 Meadowcroft Road in Avella, Washington County, through May is open noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays. This season, Meadowcroft celebrates the 60th anniversary of farmer Albert Miller’s discovery of the Rockshelter, billed as the oldest site of human habitation in North America. Call 724-587-3412.

PITTSBURGH

Fort Pitt Museum, Point State Park has opened the exhibit “Captured by Indians.” The museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for senior citizens, and $3 for children ages 6 to 17 and retired and active duty military personnel. Visit www.heinzhistorycenter.org.

Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, 700 Frank Curto Drive, continues the summer flower show through Oct. 5. The Butterfly Forest is open through Sept. 7. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, and until 10 p.m. Fridays. Admission is $15 for adults; $14 for students and senior citizens; and $11 for children ages 2 to 18. Jazz in the Garden, an evening of music in the outdoor garden, takes place from 7 to 10 p.m. today. Heinz History Center, 1212 Smallman St., will host a Jeep Cruise from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Featured will be vintage Jeeps, including 1940s Bantams and Willys-Overlands and WWII-era music. The center’s “We Can Do It!” exhibit explores Western Pennsylvania’s impact on the home, industrial, and battle fronts during World War II. The history center Jeep cruise and the guided exhibit tours are included with museum admission: $15 for adults, $13 for senior citizens, $6 for children ages 6 to 17, and free for children 5 and younger. ToonSeum, Pittsburgh’s Museum of Cartoon Art, 945 Liberty Ave., displays “Little Nemo: Dream Another Dream,” featuring the original work by dozens of contemporary artists interpreting cartoonist Windsor McCay’s comic strip, which began running in the New York Herald in 1905. The exhibition runs through June 28.There will be a joint opening party for the Avengers Assemble exhibit and the Little Nemo: Dream Another Dream exhibit at 7 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $20. Regular museum admission is $8 for those over age 13 and $4 for children ages 6 to 12. Senior citizens, college students, veterans and active military pay $7. Visit toonseum.org.
