BlueSox defeated in opener
The Butler BlueSox’s 2015 season-opener was cut short by Mother Nature Wednesday night.
Host Jamestown was ahead 5-3 with one out in the top of the seventh inning when inclement weather forced the game to be suspended. It was later called, handing the Jammers an abbreviated victory.
Ben Hartz took the loss for Butler, allowing five runs on six hits in six innings of work. He struck out seven and did not walk a batter.
Tymon White and David Marcus both went 1-for-3 for Butler. Both players drove in a run, with White scoring once.
The BlueSox face Champion City at 6:35 tonight at Kelly Automotive Park.
