New group to focus on regional transportation solutions
PITTSBURGH — A new committee announced this morning will seek to improve transportation in a 10-county area that includes Butler County.
The Regional Transportation Alliance of Southwestern Pennsylvania is a public-private partnership designed to promote discussion about the future of transportation in the region.
The 22-member committee has public officials and corporate executives. Kim Geyer, assistant to Butler County commissioner Bill McCarrier, represents Butler County.
It was formed and announced by the Allegheny Conference on Community Development.
Its first task is to collect feedback to identify transportation priorities. The committee will survey more than 700 groups by the end of the year to learn about transportation problems and ways to address them.
Group that are interested in receiving a survey can contact Carly Dobbins-Bucklad at cdobbins@alleghenyconference.org.
