BUTLER TWP — Two AK Steel employees were injured Monday morning in an accident in the plant’s North Processing department at Butler Works.

The injuries occurred about 9:20 a.m. when an electrical panel malfunction, according to AK Steel spokesman Lisa Jester. One of the workers suffered a “small area of superficial burns,” she said in an e-mail statement

Both injured employees were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for evaluation. A third employee, Jester said, was evaluated by on-site medical staff and later returned to work,

The company did not identify the employee and released no other information.
