BUTLER TWP — A 1997 Nissan pickup truck lost its brakes coming down Fairground Hill Road Thursday afternoon, hit a signpost and flipped onto its roof in the parking lot of the 11th Frame.

A shaken Tanisha Cozin said she watched from a mobile home park next door as the driver of the truck, who she identified as Robert Ifft, lost control of the vehicle with her husband in the passenger seat.

She said Ifft first hit the heavy post holding the signs for the 11th Frame Bar and Grille and Family Bowlaway.

“He hit the beam and the whole truck flipped over,” Cozin said. “It's a good thing they were both wearing their seat belts.”

The truck landed upside down, partially on a grassy area near the sign and partially in the parking lot.

While the driver was taken by Butler Ambulance for medical treatment, Cozin's husband, Mathew Shelatree, refused transport initially, but decided a few minutes later to go to Butler Memorial Hospital for rib pain.

“I'm the one who called 911,” Cozin said through tears.

A large white panel and letters from the sign littered the grass near the inverted pickup.

Butler Township Fire District and Butler Township Police responded to the scene.
