Ethel Smith of Lutheran Court in Zelienople will celebrate her 90th birthday with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday. Hosting the event is her sister and brother-in-law.

Smith was born April 29, 1914, in Meridian. She is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. L. Leroy Smith.

She was one of 13 children. Eight brothers and a sister are deceased.

She is retired from Baldingers on Route 19 and was the president of the Golden Agers for eight years.

Smith is a member of Park United Presbyterian Church in Zelienople and the Cranberry Senior Center.
