Gremlins win league baseball title

Josh Smith singled twice, doubled and drove in three runs as the Karns City baseball team clinched the Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference baseball title with a 13-0 whitewashing of North Clarion Tuesday.

David Black had a triple and Josh Behrens drove home two runs for the Gremlins (15-1, 14-1).

Cody McGregor picked up the win, striking out four in two innings of work.

In other action:

Adam Miller had four hits, including a double, but Butler dropped a 12-9 decision at Hampton.

Mike Coyne had 16 kills and Mike Eisenhuth added 25 assists as Seneca Valley beat Fox Chapel 25-18, 20-25, 25-18, 25-20, Tuesday.OLSH 3, Butler 0- Chris Erdos had 12 points and Ricky Gonzales had nine kills 18-25, 22-25 and 13-25.Shawn Vincent added 16 assists for the Golden Tornado (4-9, 3-6).

Erin Bernhard scored six goals and Mandy Hajduk added three more as Seneca Valley clinched a playoff berth with a 13-11 win over Quaker Valley Tuesday.Julie Quail added two goals for the Raiders (11-2-1), who host Butler Thursday.

Luke Werner scored six goals and B.J. Tipton added three goals as the Butler boys lacrosse team toppled Winchester-Thurston 17-6 Tuesday.
