Dorothy M. Abels

Dorothy M. Abels, 82, of Butler died at 1:10 a.m. on Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born July 8, 1921 in Butler, she was the daughter of Paul L. and Stella Caldwell Fennell.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Glade Run United Presbyterian Church in Cooperstown, the Jefferson Grange and the Women of the Moose Lodge 260.

Surviving are her husband, Thomas J. Abels, whom she married April 20, 1940; four sons, Robert W. Abels of Churchville, N.Y., T. William Abels of Meridian, Daniel W. Abels of Columbia, Tenn., and Larry P. Abels of Renfrew; three sisters, Mrs. Alberta Graham of Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Alice Hughes of Butler and Mrs. Nancy Klein of Chicora; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

ABELS - Friends of Dorothy M. Abels, who died Saturday, May 15, 2004, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gregory Wiest, of Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial ceremony will be at the Entombment Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum at the Butler County Memorial Park.
