Versatile Moniteau High School football standout Steve Saul is continuing his academic and athletic career at Westminster College.
The 5-foot-10, 165-pound tailback-defensive back rushed for 1,278 yards and 15 touchdowns for the Warriors last fall. He also caught 26 passes for 498 yards and three TDs.
Defensively, Saul had seven interceptions and returned one for a touchdown.
He was a first-team all-conference running back, a second-team all-conference defensive back and was named MVP of Moniteau's football team.
Also a member of the Warriors' track and field team, Saul plans to major in pre-physical therapy at Westminster.
Zach Jackson, a junior on the Texas A&M University baseball team, was named first-team All-Big 12 squad Monday.Jackson, a graduate of Seneca Valley, struck out 110 batters in 104 innings. He had a seven-inning no-hitter in his first game of the season and also had a perfect game entering the ninth inning of another contest.He finished the regular season with a 10-5 record and a 3.55 ERA.
