COMING ATTRACTIONS

A reception for the exhibit of pottery and recent works of Ian Thomas will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. June 12 at the Associated Artists of Butler County Art Center, 344 S. Main St.

The exhibit will then continue through July 9.

Regular gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.

ZELIENOPLE - To raise funds for the Strand Theatre initiative in Zelienople, "The Fantasticks" will be performed at 8 p.m. June 10 to 12 and 17 to 19 and at 2 p.m. June 13 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 215 N. Main St.The musical will be directed by Nathan Brewer, artistic director of the Actors Company of Princeton, N.J.Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students.For reservations, call 724-452-8832.

The Butler County Symphony Association has already planned its 56th season, which will start Oct. 16.The season will feature:"Noble Start," with violinist Tomislav Dimov, 8 p.m. Oct. 16"Wild, Wild West" family concert with fiddler Ken Metrick and a dance group, 7:30 p.m. Nov. 6"Holiday Cheer," including the Blazing Star Children's Chorus, audience sing-along and pianist Bryan Helsel, 3 and 8 p.m. Dec. 4"Sweet Suites," with Henry Doktorski on accordion and soprano Beth Ackelson, 8 p.m. Feb. 12"Irish Spring," including the 2005 Young Artist Competition winner, 8 p.m. March 19"Sliding Home," with Butler native Jim Pugh in "Concerto for Trombone," 8 p.m. April 30.Seats for all concerts - except the Family Concert and the matinee Holiday Concert - are reserved. Season-ticket holders can renew in July. New subscribers will be able to buy season tickets after that. PITTSBURGH - The North Hills Art Center, 3432 Babcock Blvd. in Ross Township, is hosting its Regional 2004 Multi-Media Juried Art Exhibit through July 8.The exhibit features work of area artists in a variety of media, including watercolors, photography, pottery, sculpture, oils, acrylics and metalwork.Parking on site is free, as is admission.Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays; closed Sundays.For more information, call 412-364-3622.
