Seneca Valley pitcher Scott Carney will continue his academic and baseball careers at Westminster College.

Carney posted a 5-2 record and 3.70 earned run average for the Raiders this season. He was 8-2 with a 2.30 ERA for the Cranberry Township team in the Division I North Hills Federation League last summer.

Along with his baseball laurels, Carney earned the Presidents Award and was given the Good Citizenship Award by State Sen. Mary Jo White this year.

Carney plans to major in criminal justice.

Westminster was 18-22 this season - 6-9 in the President's Athletic Conference - under first-year coach Carmen Nocera.

Mallory Bugel, Mars' all-time leading goal-scorer in girls soccer, will continue her academic and soccer careers at Westminster College.Bugel scored 96 goals and added 41 assists for 233 points with the Planets. She was a two-time All-WPIAL selection and was her team's offensive MVP.Bugel also played for the Mars boys (U-19) Edinboro Champions and for the Pittsburgh Strikers.A National Honor Society student who was class salutorian, Bugel plans to major in biology.Westminster's women's soccer team was 16-7 last year and won its second straight PAC championship.
