Judges announce carnival winners

SAXONBURG - Here are the winners of the Little Miss Saxonburg Pageant from Wednesday, the Fireman's Water Battle from Tuesday and Pet Parade from Monday at this year's Saxonburg Fireman's Carnival:

Crystal Chilcott, 11, of Butler was named Little Miss Saxonburg. She is the daughter of Donald and Shirley Chilcott.The three runners-up are: first runner-up Erika Scardina, daughter of Jennifer Nolph and Richard Scardina; second runner-up Chloe Danilchak, 11, daughter of Carol Danilchak; and third runner-up Paige Allen, 9, daughter of Jeff and Renee Allen, all of Butler.

The West Deer Volunteer Fire Department swept this year's water battle with West Deer 1 coming in first place, West Deer 2 in second place and West Deer 3 third place.Twenty fire companies entered the event.

Here are the winners from the pet parade:Best of show: Hungarian vizsla, entered by Chanal Lefever of Saxonburg, and runner-up: Cinderella's pumpkin pulled by Kelly Green labs Sally and Koko with owners, entered by Melinda Berzonski of Butler.Most original arrangement: "The Circus" from Butler, which consisted of a white horse and a circus leader.Most Unusual: a Lhasa apso entered by Jim Grasinger of Sarver.Best groomed: A sheepdog entered by Sherry Myers, ButlerPrettiest animal: A Yorkshire terrier entered by Brittany Hancheck of Saxonburg.Biggest animal: A horse entered by Heather Schurar and Tiffany Blackburn of Sarver.Farthest distance traveled: Terri Mittica of Tyler, Texas, who had a dog.
