David Lee Hanford Sr.
David Lee Hanford Sr., 55, of Butler died Tuesday at his home.
Born Jan. 24, 1949, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Mary Ann Nowack Hanford and the late Jack Andrew Hanford.
He formerly worked for the state Department of Transportation.
Mr. Hanford, whose stage name was David Lee, also was a musician and recorded numerous CDs as he pursued his dream of becoming a recording artist. He was a member of the Association of Composers, Authors and Publishers.
Surviving are a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Ferguson of Butler; a son, David Lee Hanford Jr. of Butler; and five grandchildren. He also is survived by his mother of San Diego, Calif.; two sisters, Connie Ochaba of Butler and Debbie Morales of San Diego; and two brothers, John "Jack" Hanford of Iowa and Bradley Hanford of Butler.
He was preceded in death by a brother, a sister and a grandchild.
HANFORD - Friends of David Lee Hanford, who died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004, will be received from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St. Services will follow at 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev.
