Eugene A. 'Bud' Long
Eugene A. "Bud" Long, 78, of Emlenton died at 5:25 p.m. Sunday at Beverly Healthcare-Shippenville.
Born Jan. 8, 1926, in New Kensington, he was the son of John Albert and Maude Rae Sutton Long.
He was a 1944 graduate of Emlenton High School and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Long and his wife owned and operated Long's Cleaners in Emlenton for more than 40 years. He retired in 1995.
He was a member of the Emlenton Presbyterian Church. He had been a member of the Odd Fellows, was involved in the Emlenton area Boy Scouts for years, enjoyed bowling and golfing and was a sports enthusiast.
Surviving are his wife, Grace Marie Hindman Long, whom he married in Muscogee, Okla., Feb. 3, 1945; two sons, Charles Albert Long of Crosby and John William Long of Parker; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He also is survived by a brother, Albert Dale Long of Waterloo, Ala.; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by three sisters.
LONG - Friends of Eugene A. "Bud" Long, who died Sundaywill be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at HILE FUNERAL HOME, 1204 Kerr Ave. at Walnut Street, Emlenton. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Lori Danielson, his church pastor, officiating.
