Charles N. Neigh
Charles N. Neigh, 90, of Bonniebrook Road died Wednesday at his home.
Born in Butler, Jan. 19, 1914, he was a son of Charles and Clara Lehnerd Neigh.
He was a retired union plumber and formerly worked for Neigh Brothers Plumbing & Heating in Butler. He then worked for the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 356 of Butler and Local 47 of Pittsburgh at various Butler area industrial plants.
Mr. Neigh was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church. He was an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus Council 866 and was one of the charter members of the R.C. Men's Club in Herman. He also a charter member of the Happy Hunters Sportsmen's Club in Fenelton and was a co-founder and past president of the Butler County Horseshoe League. He had a lifetime membership at Hiland Golf Course.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Anthony (Nancy) DeFurio of Indiana, Pa., Charlotte Neigh of Minnesota and Mrs. William (Elizabeth "Beth") Reed of Fenelton; and two sisters, Sister Mary Barbara Neigh, O.S.F., of Pittsburgh and Mrs. Claire Hilderbrand of Butler. Six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
His wife, Mary MacCarron Neigh, whom he married June 28, 1934, died Nov. 15, 1987. Three brothers, Joseph, Leonard and Alfred Neigh also preceded him in death.
His family wishes to especially thank his loving caregivers who came to his home for the past four years, Diane McCreary, Fran McElroy, Marilyn Ahrens, Judy Weiland, Muzzy Young and Judi Goepfert.
NEIGH - Friends of Charles N. Neigh, who died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2004, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St. The Rev. Jack Nanz will officiate.
