Herbert Edward Ritz

Herbert Edward Ritz, 89, of Zelienople died Wednesday at Passavant Retirement & Health Center, Zelienople.

Born Aug. 6, 1915, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Edward and Elizabeth Raber Ritz.

Mr. Ritz was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church of Zelienople and was a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Brady Ritz, whom he married in 1945; two sons, Edward Ritz and his wife, Norma, of Mount Laurel, N.J., and Charles Ritz and his wife, Kathy, of Albuquerque, N.M.; two daughters, Diann Ritz-Nicolella and her husband, John, of Upper St. Clair and Susie Dispennett and her husband, Maurice, of Zelienople; and a brother, Joseph Ritz of Delmar, N.Y. Eight grandchildren, Tommy Scarpaci and his wife, Tina; Heather Scarpaci; Denyse Kennedy and her husband, Phil; Carolyn Hockman and her husband, Joe; Brady Ritz; and Erin, Betsy and Josh Dispennett; and three great-grandchildren, Allyson and Owen Kennedy; and Chase Hockman, also survive.

A daughter, Kathleen Ritz; two brothers, Richard and Edward Ritz; and a sister, Mildred Joseph, preceded him in death.

RITZ - A memorial Mass for Herbert Edward Ritz, who died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2004, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Gregory Catholic Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople, with the Rev. Robert Miller officiating. Burial will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township, Allegheny County.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Harmony E.M.S., 102 Mennonite Lane, Harmony, PA 16037.Arrangements are byBOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, Zelienople, and online condolences are available at www.boylanfuneral.com.
