HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP

It took the Mars girls basketball team 16 minutes to shake off the jetlag from their return trip from Las Vegas, where they played a tournament last week.

Once the Planets did, they cruised.

Mars (6-3 overall, 3-0 in the section) was sluggish early, falling behind by five points at the half, but the Planets outscored Highlands 35-14 in the second half.

Taryn Adamski scored 19 points and also recorded 11 rebounds for the Planets. Megan Gibson added nine rebounds, seven steals and six assists.
