Jack E. Herzog

Jack E. Herzog, 66, of Evans City, formerly of New Sewickley Township in Beaver County, died unexpectedly Tuesday at his home.

Born April 15, 1938, in New Sewickley Township, he was the son of the late Lester E. and Shirley "Bessie" Adamek Herzog.

He retired from the Norfolk Southern Railroad, formerly Conrail, in Conway.

Mr. Herzog was a former member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church of New Sewickley Township. He also belonged to the Big Knob Antique Tractor Club and was an avid fisherman and NASCAR fan.

Surviving are a daughter, Kimberly A. Herzog, and her fiancé, Frederick Hixenbaugh, of Center Township, Beaver County; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Gregory A. and Katie Herzog of Mars, Scott A. and Mary Beth Herzog of New Sewickley Township and Matthew T. Herzog of Mercer; four grandchildren, Jeremy J. and Jordan S. Herzog, both of New Sewickley Township, and Maria and Nicole Hixenbaugh, both of Center Township, Beaver County; and beloved friends, Don Sayre of New Sewickley Township and Margaret Merriman of Economy.

HERZOG - Friends of Jack E. Herzog, who died Tuesday, March 15, 2005, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at WILLIAM MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 349 Adams St., Rochester. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, New Sewickley Township, with the Rev. Roger Nuerge, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Cemetery, Daugherty Township, Beaver County.
