Eric Von Smegal
Eric Von Smegal, 38, of 3412 Oneida Valley Road, Emlenton, died at 7 a.m. Thursday at his home.
Born in Ashtabula, Ohio, Feb. 17, 1967, he was the son of Richard L. Smegal and Patricia Newcomb Lockwood.
He formerly was a carpenter for Clair Boring Painting & Services. He enjoyed fishing.
Surviving are his wife, Starlene F. Spisak Smegal, whom he married Sept. 17, 1989; two sons, Troy Hazeltine of Conneaut, Ohio, and Devon Smega of Emlenton; a daughter, Skylene Smegal of Emlenton; his father of Geneva on the Lake, Ohio; his mother of Conneaut, Ohio; his maternal grandmother, Florence Newcomb of Jefferson, Ohio; his paternal grandparents, Frank and Violetta Smegal of St. James City, Fla.; a brother, Richard Smegal of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; and a sister, Tammy Smegal Saunders of Cleveland, Ohio. Numerous stepbrothers and stepsisters also survive.
SMEGAL - Friends of Eric Von Smegal, who died Thursday, March 31, 2005, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Albert Stuart, pastor of Highland Presbyterian Church of Slippery Rock, officiating. Burial will be at Slippery Rock Cemetery.
