Kathryn Marburger
Kathryn Mae Schoeffel Lotz Marburger, 94, of Newville, Cumberland County, where she has lived for the past eight years, died Jan. 28 at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. She formerly lived in Evans City.
Born July 4, 1910, in Evans City she was the daughter of Edward A. and LuLu S. Smathers Schoeffel.
She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Evans City. She also belonged to The Red Hat Society and was a member of Bethlehem Chapter 37 Order of the Easter Star of Evans City, where she had served as a worthy matron and belonged to the Past Matrons. She also had served on the Elsie Hartje Assembly Order of Rainbow for Girls Advisory Board, Evans City, and was mother advisor.
Mrs. Marburger retired from Citizens National Bank of Evans City as a teller.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. William (Diane) Biega of Carlisle; two granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold L. "Spike" Lotz, who died Dec. 26, 1967; her second husband, Leroy C. Marburger, who died Nov. 16, 1983; a great-granddaughter; and two brothers.
MARBURGER - Friends of Kathryn Mae Schoeffel Lutz Marburger, who died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the A. CARL KINSEY-RONALD N. VOLZ FUNERAL HOME, 328 W. Main St., Evans City. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Evans City, with the Rev. Dave Saylor officiating.
