Clyde F. Bresnahan
Clyde F. Bresnahan, 78, of Butler died at 7:52 p.m. Tuesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 9, 1926, in Butler, he was the son of Merle and Ethel Burns Bresnahan.
He was a World War II Army veteran, and he retired in 1983 after 28 years as a wheel grinder at Pullman Standard.
Mr. Bresnahan was a member of St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church in Carbon Center and the East Butler Fireman's Club.
He enjoyed playing cards and had been a member of several shuffleboard and bowling leagues.
Surviving are his wife, Emma Johnston Bresnahan, whom he married March 14, 1949; six daughters, Mrs. Neil (Karen) Larsen of Atlanta, Ga., Mrs. John (Donna) McNany of Chicora, Linda Burk of Meridian, Mrs. Paul (Trudy) Homa and Trina Slater, both of Chicora, and Darlene Bresnahan of Butler; two sons, Clyde Jr. and Mark Bresnahan, both of Butler; 15 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
He also is survived by three brothers, John Bresnahan of Chicora and Gene and Edward Bresnahan, both of Butler, and a number of nieces and nephews.
A sister and a grandson preceded him in death.
BRESNAHAN - Friends of Clyde F. Bresnahan, who died Tuesday, April 12, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Thursday at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Kevin McKnight officiating.
