Kenneth D. Freehling

Kenneth D. Freehling, 86, of Cabot died Friday at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.

Born May 8, 1918, in Cabot, he was the son of August C. and Nora Watson Freehling.

He served in the Army during World War II.

He was a laborer for Du-Co Ceramics. He was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church, where he was Sunday school superintendent for more than 25 years. He also was a member of the Saxonburg American Legion Post 683.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth L. McConnell Freehling, whom he married on Oct. 23, 1948; a son, Michael D. Freehling of Moore, S.C.; two brothers, Arthur C. Freehling of Kittanning and Walter H. Freehling of Lower Burrell; a sister, Mrs. Leona Barnes of Cabot, and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

FREEHLING - Friends of Kenneth D. Freehling, who died Friday, April 15, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at FOX FUNERAL HOME, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the Zion United Methodist Church with the Rev. Howard Greenfield officiating. Burial will follow in Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.The family requests memorial donations be made to the Zion United Methodist Church Sunday School fund.
