William L. Hicks, 79, formerly of Crisswell in Perry Township, Armstrong County, died Friday at Butler Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.

He lived at Chicora Medical Center for some time.

Born May 19, 1925, in Perry Township, he was the son of John C. and Iva V. Crawford Hicks.

Mr. Hicks was a member of the Criswell Methodist Church and enjoyed helping neighbors and friends with projects around their homes.

He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, John and Lucille Hicks of Karns City, and a several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Herbert and Paul Hicks.

HICKS - Friends of William L. Hicks, who died Friday, April 15, 2005, will be received from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at the RICHARD D. MILLIS FUNERAL HOME, 102 Argyle St., Petrolia. Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard R. Rowe of the Petrolia Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Criswell Cemetery, Perry Township.
