Mary Alice Huber

Mary Alice Huber, 83, died peacefully Saturday at her home surrounded by loved ones.

Born July 31, 1921, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Michael Joseph and Mary Immaculate Heart McShane Holleran.

She attended school in Oakland and then studied for two years at Margaret Morrison College.

On Oct. 13, 1956, she married Richard J. Huber; and they raised six children, each of whom was by her side as she passed away.

In addition to being a wonderful wife and mother, she devoted time as an active member of St. Ferdinand Roman Catholic Church as an organist, cantor, C.C.D. teacher, council member, member of the St. Stephen Ministry and as a member of the Respect Life committee and the Cordova Club. She was active in Lifeline, co-founding the Cranberry office and receiving the first annual Mary deMucci Award for years of work with Catholic Charities. She volunteered at the St. Vincent dePaul Society, was a lay member of the Cranberry Church Council and assisted with countless other charities.

She was also a member of the Beaver County Writer's Guild and was once a finalist in Pillsbury National Bake-off contest.

She is survived by her siblings, Edward Holleran of Mars and Kathleen Haynes of Pittsburgh; her children, Richard E. Huber and his wife, Rosemary, of Harmony, Philip J. Huber and his wife, Gail, of Laguna Niguel, Calif., Alice Mary Huber and her husband, David Dressler, of Shoreline, Wash., Paul L. Huber and his wife, LuAnn, of Fombell, Annette T. Huber-Lee and her husband William Lee, of Lexington, Mass., and Kathryn I. Huber of Cranberry Township.

Also surviving are six wonderful grandchildren, Melissa, Brian, Alyssa, Sean, Scott and David.

In addition to her husband, who died in 1983, she was preceded in death by two brothers Michael and Jack Holleran.

HUBER - Relatives, friends and those touched by Alice Mary Huber, who died Saturday, April 16, 2005, are welcome from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at GLENN-KILDOO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ferdinand Roman Catholic Church, 2535 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township.
