Grace E. Hutchinson

Grace E. Benson Hutchinson, 99, of 220 E. Christie Ave. died Sunday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Sept. 15, 1905, in Kaylor, Armstrong County, she was a daughter of John and Phoebe Lehner Benson.

A graduate of Kittanning High School, she was a homemaker and had been the bookkeeper of the family business, Hutchinson's Cleaners, with her husband.

She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.

She enjoyed knitting and seamstress work and had made many of her own clothes. She also was an avid bridge player.

Surviving are a son, James B. Hutchinson of Butler; eight grandchildren, John Gordon "Jack" Hutchinson and his wife, Lisa, of Butler, Richard C. Hutchinson and his wife, Andrea, of Weston, Fla., Joan Marie Hutchinson of Butler, Daniel V. Hutchinson and his wife, Gail, of Chicago, James B. Hutchinson Jr. of Washington, D.C., Anne M. Hutchinson of Butler, and Mrs. Robert (Margaret M.) Lang of Parkville, Md., and Steven M. Hutchinson and his wife, Lorraine, of Butler; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Gordon C. Hutchinson, whom she married Nov. 19, 1929, died April 8, 1985. Two brothers and four sisters also preceded her in death.

HUTCHINSON - Friends of Grace E. Benson Hutchinson, who died Sunday, April 17, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.The St. Paul Guild and Christian Mothers will recite the rosary at 9:40 a.m. Thursday at the church.Memorial donations may be made to Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church Building Fund, 1304 E.
