Ida B. Ace Shoup

Ida B. Ace Shoup, 79, of Emlenton-Clintonville Road, Emlenton in Scrubgrass Township, Venango County, died at 6:36 a.m. Thursday at UPMC Northwest, Seneca, after a brief illness.

Born March 11, 1926, in Big Bend, Scrubgrass Township, she was the daughter of William G. and Margaret B. Murray Ace.

She was a 1944 graduate of Emlenton High School. She was a homemaker and enjoyed flower gardening, crocheting and knitting.

Mrs. Shoup was a member of the Scrubgrass Stone Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. John (Linda) Gerstner of Emlenton; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Donald R. Shoup, whom she married June 15, 1947, in Emlenton, died June 20, 2004. A daughter, four brothers and a sister also preceded her in death.

SHOUP - Friends of Ida B. Ace Shoup, who died Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at HILE FUNERAL HOME, 1204 Kerr Ave. at Walnut Street, Emlenton. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Clara Kohlmeyer, pastor of Big Bend United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Big Bend Cemetery, Scrubgrass Township.
