David G. McFadden

David Glenn McFadden, 53, of South Street and formerly of Parker died Thursday at Chicora Medical Center after a two-week battle with cancer.

Born May 10, 1952, in Grove City, he was a son of Martha McFadden and the late Walter McFadden.

He was a 1970 graduate of A-C Valley High School and a foster father for Children and Youth Services for the past two years.

Mr. McFadden was a truck driver for Robert Neff of Cranberry and a former heavy equipment operator and a member of Local 66 of Operating Engineers of Monroeville.

He was Protestant.

Mr. McFadden enjoyed spending time with his family and was recently awarded a Foster Parent of the Year Award.

He served as a sergeant in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and received the Air Force Commendation Medal.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Servey McFadden, whom he married Aug. 29, 1998.

Also surviving is a daughter, Shannon Stewart and her husband, Lonny of Eau Claire; five sons, Jamie McFadden of California, Jesse McFadden of Clarion, William McFadden of Parker and Julian and Brandon McFadden, both of Butler; two step-children, Teresa Guiste of Florida and Franklin Guiste of North Carolina; three foster children, Tabetha Mitchel, Gerald Jamison and Renda Zitterkopt, all at home; his mother of Slippery Rock; two grandchildren, Autumn and Alicia Stewart; four sisters, Joyce Barger and her husband Ricky of Farrell, Bonnie Crisman and her husband, Gary of Rew, Connie Hagan and her husband William of Harrisville and Patty Holliday and her husband, Tim of Grove City; and many nieces and nephews.

MCFADDEN - Friends of David Glenn McFadden, who died Thursday, May 19, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at JAMISON FUNERAL HOME, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday from the funeral home, with the Rev. Jeffrey St. Clair, pastor of Harrisville United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Harmony Cemetery, Harrisville.Memorial contributions may be made to the Children and Youth Services, 124 W. Diamond St., Butler, PA 16001, in memory of David McFadden.
