Margaret Swetof Miller

Margaret Swetof Miller, 76, of Valencia died Thursday at Concordia at Rebecca Residence in Allison Park with her family by her side after a long battle with leukemia.

Born Nov. 15, 1928, in the Logans Ferry section of Plum, she was the daughter of John and Anna Antonik Swetof.

She lived in Valencia for the past 46 years and had worked at the former Emrose Drug Store in New Kensington for 11 years.

Mrs. Miller was a member of Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, Glade Mills.

She enjoyed reading and music and was an avid walker. She also was a devoted mother and grandmother and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren

Surviving are four children, Charles G. (Susan Redmond) Miller Jr. and Annamarie (Paul) Miller-Starr, both of Valencia, Margaret L. (Lou) Castello of Renfrew and Laura M. (Mark) Williams of Greer, S.C.; and six siblings, John (Diana) Swetof Jr., Robert (Beverly) Swetof Sr., William, (Laura) Swetof, Mary Shanko, Dorothy Ross and Elizabeth “Betty” France, all of New Kensington. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Louis and Mindy Castello, Brandi, Kyle and Lydia Williams and Anastasia and Paul Charles Starr; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles G. Miller Sr., who died Oct. 13, 1985; a sister and a brother, Helen and G. Ronald Swetof; and two nephews, William Hotalski and Wayne Thomas Ross.

MILLER — Friends of Margaret Swetof Miller, who died Thursday, May 19, 2005, will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at JOHN F. KRUPA FUNERAL HOME, 1000 Freeport Road, New Kensington. Services will follow at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Larry Kulick officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.Memorial contributions may be made to Hillman Cancer Center, 5115 Centre Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15232; Good Samaritan Hospice, 3500 Brooktree Road, Wexford, PA 15090; or the Leukemia Society.
