Thomas Boettner Jr.

Thomas M. Boettner Jr., 91, of Slippery Rock died Monday at his home.

Born Nov. 10, 1913, in Wyoming, Luzerne County, he was the son of Thomas Morton Boettner Sr. and Sarah Ann Davis Boettner.

He retired from the finishing department of Armco-Butler Works after 42 years.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Julia Ann) Miller of Volant and Mrs. David (Betsy) Hauser of Butler; two sons, William Anthony Boettner of Slippery Rock and Richard David Boettner of Butler; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

His wife, Julia Alko Boettner, whom he married Oct. 18, 1940, died Dec. 28, 2000. Two grandsons, two sisters and a brother also preceded him in death.

BOETTNER - Friends of Thomas M. Boettner, who died Monday, May 23, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at YOUNG FUNCRAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St. Services will follow at 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Steve Cahoon, pastor of Meridian United Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut.Information also is available at www.youngfuneralhomes.com.
