Edith Ishman Clowes

Edith A. Ishman Clowes, 80, of Worthington died Sunday at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.

Born Oct. 1, 1924, in Jefferson County, she was the daughter of Wallace and Laura Eshbaugh Yoder.

She worked at U.S. Steel in Yellowdog and also had the Ishman slaughterhouse on the family farm.

She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Worthington.

She enjoyed crocheting and playing cards.

She is survived by her husband Richard "Dick" Clowes; three sons, Russell Ishman of Charleston, S.C., Ronald Ishman of Worthington, and Richard Ishman of Freeport; a daughter, Pamela Lucas of Butler; eight grandchildren; three step children; three step grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a sister, Aldine Kube of DuBois.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Ishman; a brother; and a sister.

CLOWES - Friends of Edith A. Ishman Clowes, who died Sunday, July 24, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the F. DUANE SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 424 Bear St., Worthington.Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday by the Rev. Nola Eisenbrant, interim pastor at Evangelical Lutheran Church.Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the services at the church.Burial will be in Slate Lick Cemetery.
