2:37 p.m. Wednesday - Jason Shilling, 14, of Butler suffered minor injuries when his bicycle struck the side of a municipal bus at East Fulton and North Cedar streets. Witnesses said the boy rode his bicycle into the intersection without stopping and struck the bus driven by Terry Foringer, 49, of Bruin.3:48 a.m. Wednesday - April Hemphill, 20, of Brady Township was charged with several alcohol-related violations at the parking lot of a West Jefferson Street convenience store.Police said Hemphill and three others in a car together were cited in the case. Hemphill is charged with furnishing alcohol to minors, underage drinking and public drunkenness.Also charged with underage drinking and public drunkenness is Crystal Buckley, 19, of Brady Township. Two 17-year-old Butler boys were cited for underage drinking.
7:30 p.m. Wednesday - Celeste Lunn, 22, and Carl Opperman, 24, both of Center Township, were charged with retail theft in connection with the theft of merchandise from the St. Vincent DePaul store at the Greater Butler Mart. Additionally, Lunn is charged with false identification to law enforcement authorities, and Opperman is charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
3:30 p.m. Monday - Five-year-old Joseph Bo Pisano of Grove City was injured when he ran onto the street and was hit by a sport utility vehicle driven by John Alfreno, 72, of Grove City.Pisano was taken with unknown injuries to United Community Hospital in Grove City. He was later flown by medical helicopter to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh. The hospital would not disclose any other information about the child's injuries or condition.Monday - Police reported that Donald McFeaters, 67, of Harrisville was charged with open lewdness and disorderly conduct, stemming from an Aug. 1 incident at Memorial Park.Sunday - Landscaping lights were vandalized between 1:30 a.m. and noon. at the Bessemer Avenue home of Karl Hodge.
2:55 p.m. Aug. 17 - A car driven by Maria Moore, 44, of Zelienople and a truck driven by John Roddy, 49, of Franklin, Venango County, collided on West Grandview Avenue.12:50 p.m. Aug. 17 - Vehicles driven by Linda Makarevich, 50, of Pulaski, Lawrence County, and Jeanne Cox, 36, of Irvin, Westmoreland County, collided on South Main Street. The collision forced Cox's vehicle into the rear of a vehicle driven by Mary J. Braymer, 58, of Ellwood City, Lawrence County.2:14 p.m. Aug. 15 - Vehicles driven by Christina Chamberlain, 19, and Richard Andrews, 78, both of Zelienople, collided at Jefferson and New Castle streets
Monday - Undisclosed items valued at $625 were taken between 2:25 and 8 p.m. from an unlocked car at the Clearview Mall parking lot in Center Township. Mickey Chapman of West Sunbury owns the stolen property.8:22 p.m. Aug. 6 - Brian Lee Jones, 46, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence after his van struck several trees and shrubbery along Blazing Star Drive in Penn Township. Police estimated the property damage in the crash at $2,220.
6:50 p.m. Tuesday - Grey Walker, 26, of Freeport was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after a minor traffic crash on Route 366 in New Kensington, Westmoreland County.
8:27 p.m. Thursday - A 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse reported stolen a day earlier was found destroyed by fire on north Sopher Road in Wolfcreek Township, Mercer County.Car owner Thomas Dovey said the vehicle was stolen from his Grove City home on Wednesday.
9:50 a.m. Tuesday - Township resident Tiffany Wells, no age available, of 456 Textor Hill Road reported someone overnight tried to blow up her mailbox with a homemade explosive device.1:43 a.m. Aug. 20 - Justin Scott Koegler, 25, of 115 Valley Dr., Pine Valley Estates, Harmony, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop on Fanker Road.6:20 p.m. Aug. 20 - The Rev. David Smith of the First Bible Baptist Church at 127 Seneca School Road reported someone entered the rear of the church overnight and took the collection basket that contained between $75 and $100.2:16 p.m. Aug. 20 - Jennifer Davidson, 59, of Lindsay Road, Jackson Township, reported her purse taken from the office of T & M Hardware in Northgate Plaza off Route 19. The purse contained a wallet, identification, checks and numerous credit cards. The woman told police one credit card was used at Giant Eagle and Home Depot in Cranberry Township to charge $365 at both locations before the woman could cancel the cards.10:45 a.m. Aug. 18 - A vehicle driven by Jamie M. Sassaman, 22, of Fombell, was traveling south on Route 19 toward the stop light at the intersection of Lindsay Road when she was unable to stop and caused a chain reaction collision with vehicles driven by Jo Ann Catherine Hein, 46, of McKim Street, Zelienople, and Marie E. Rothharr, 77, of Charles Street, Portersville. Sassaman was cited by police for driving at safe speeds.3:03 p.m. Aug. 17 - Vehicles driven by Fredrick B. Kruse, 90, of Sewickley, and Walter J. Ondrizek, 44, of Sunmine Road, Sarver, collided at the intersection of Evans City Road and Lindsay Road. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. A passenger, Nellie Kruse, 86, of Sarver complained of neck and shoulder pain and was taken for treatment at the UPMC Passavant Cranberry.6:21 p.m. Aug. 13 - Nathan Patrick Southworth, 31, and Steven J. Combine, 57, both of Erie, both face charges stemming from a traffic stop near the Dairy Queen off Route 19. Police pulled Southworth over for having a expired license plate registration. Police also found the vehicle have improper registration and the driver was operating the vehicle without proper insurance. Drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana were found in the vehicle. Southworth faces numerous traffic violations and disorderly conduct, and Combine will face disorderly conduct and marijuana possession charges.11:42 a.m. Aug. 10 - A vehicle driven by Norbert Belsterling, 78, of Plunkett Drive, Zelienople, was attempting to cross Route 19 near Rolling Hills Drive, when he crossed over into the other lane and collided with a vehicle driven by Earl Beck, 83, of West Park Road, Portersville. Beck was treated for cuts and bruises at the Ellwood City hospital. Belsterling was cited for vehicles entering or crossing a road.
