1:25 a.m. today - Rodger Finney, 44, was arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, Sonja Madison, 37, at his West Wayne Street home. Finney is charged with simple assault.4:10 p.m. Tuesday - A sport utility vehicle driven by Brian Sholes, 42, of Butler struck the rear of a car on Jefferson Street. Joann Ferguson, 66, of Butler, who was driving the car, was treated for unknown injuries at Butler Memorial Hospital. Sholes was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

1:10 a.m. today - William Leo Russell II, 22, of West Sunbury was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his car struck a fire hydrant along Keister Road in Slippery Rock.12:01 a.m. today - Sandra Mariani, 45, of Allegheny Township was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after crashing at Route 38 and Hughes Road in Venango Township. Details about the crash were not available this morning.Monday - Arson is suspected in a fire on Mahood Road in Center Township that damaged a reportedly stolen 2005 Toyota Scion sedan.Police said the car, owned by Joshua Inklovich of Butler Township, was stolen early in the morning from Pal-Mar Drive in Center Township. The vehicle was found on fire about 10:30 p.m. on Mahood Road. Unionville firefighters were called to the blaze.

Monday - Police reported that Christopher Schneider, no age given, of New Castle was charged for allegedly bouncing two checks at Consumer Direct Sports on Veteran's Road in Springfield Township, Mercer County. Police said the checks, which totaled more than $140, were written on a closed account. Schneider is charged with bad checks and theft by deception.

Sunday - Dale Edmiston, no address available, reported that a flag valued at $20 was stolen from his property.Sunday - Mika Sasaki of 226 Sentinel Hall at 106 Fairview Drive, Slippery Rock, reported an IBM computer valued at $1,000 was stolen between June 1 and Aug. 25.Saturday - Kevin M. Furry, 21, of 522 Grant St., Slippery Rock, was arrested for driving under the influence. According to police, Furry went through a stop sign on Normal Avenue and was stopped on Grove City Road, where he failed a field sobriety test.Thursday - Steven Gilkinson, 19, of 504 Cameron Drive was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. Gilkinson was knocking on doors and was observed acting irrationally. Police had him taken to United Community Hospital in Grove City for his own safety. Gilkinson was found to be in possession of LSD.

Saturday - Ryan Walsh, 26, was arrested for driving under the influence after being stopped by an officer on North Road.Saturday - Police arrested Robert Pope, 18, and a male minor, both of Patterson Hall, for possession of marijuana. Christian McKay, 18, of Founders Hall and Jacob Kerr, 18, of Founders Hall were cited for underage drinking.
