Michael D. Cavanaugh
Michael Dennis Cavanaugh, 55, of Cocoa, Fla., formerly of Butler, died Friday at Holmes Regional Medical Center, Melbourne, Fla.
Born in Pittsburgh, April 27, 1950, he was the son of the late Joseph and Lucille Bridges Cavanaugh.
He was raised in Pittsburgh and moved to Cocoa five years ago.
Mr. Cavanaugh was employed with Ironworkers Local Union 3 in Pittsburgh for 15 years; and for the past 23 years, he has been an engineer and a project management professional with Siemens-Westinghouse.
He was a member of the Cocoa Moose Lodge 1717, where he was an active member of the pool league. He also had a passion for rebuilding classic cars and cooking for friends and family.
He is survived by his wife of 38, Patricia Murphy Cavanaugh; a son, Patrick Cavanaugh of Grove City; two daughters: Mrs. Gregory (Erin) Barto of Butler and Meagan Cavanaugh of Cocoa; and six grandchildren. A brother, Joseph Cavanaugh of Arlington, Va., also survives.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
CAVANAUGH - Friends of Michael Dennis Cavanaugh, who died Friday, Aug. 12, 2005, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St. A blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev.
