Marion Kushner Londino, 76, of Natrona Heights, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday after a courageous battle with cancer.

During her six-month illness, she received an incredible amount of love and support from family and friends. Her family, who cared for her at home during her illness, thanks all those who supported her with prayers, good deeds and loving thoughts.

She was very active in Rotary, having received the Paul Harris Fellow award, served as assistant to two District Governors, and worked tirelessly for numerous Rotary fundraisers. She also served the community over the years in many civic functions such as the New Kensington bicentennial celebration committee, Easter Seal drives, Meals on Wheels and Girl Scout Leader.

Over the years, she was also very active in the various Roman Catholic parishes to which she belonged. She served as a lector, an Extraordinary Minister of the Holy Eucharist and sang in the choir. She established the CCD program and the school library at the former St. Joseph (New Kensington) grade school (currently Mary, Queen of Apostles). She worked for the numerous annual fundraisers at St. Frances de Sales (Purceville, Va.) and St. Joseph's (Cabot).

Subsequent to the death of her husband, Joseph M. Londino, in October 1974, she attended Citizens General Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1978 as a registered nurse. Over the years, she attended Seton Hill College, La Roche College and Indiana State University in Indiana in pursuit of a bachelor's degree in nursing. She worked as a RN in various hospitals and later for several private practices until diagnosed with her illness in March.

Her family and friends will always remember her beautiful smile, her quick sense of humor, her creativity that touched all that she did, her thirst for knowledge, her sense of fashion and stylish hats. She loved reading, gardening, creative cooking, solving crossword puzzles (in ink!), playing bridge, singing in harmony and a challenging game of Scrabble. Her homemade pasta, biscotti and breads will be missed by all who knew or visited her. Her home was always a home away from home to those in need.

She will be dearly missed by her five children: daughter Vera Lynn and David Pischke and grandson Adam of Dousman, Wis.; daughter, Rosanne and Russ Black of Williamsburg, Va.; son Joseph and Beth Londino of Jackson, Tenn.; son Fiore and Maureen Londino and grandchildren Fiore Jr. and Lauren of Allison Park; daughter Marianne and Andreas Huchingson of Cabot; granddaughters Maria Mickelic and Justin Jones of Pittsburgh; Kelley and Edward Emerick and great-grandson Connor of Saxonburg; and Sara Mickelic of Cabot.

She is also survived by her loving sisters and brother: Agnes Kubiak of Rochester, N.Y.; Stella Mitchell of Anthony, N.M.; Junie Johnson of Rogers, AK; Alice Zimmer of Angola, N.Y.; Frannie Perez of Buffalo, N.Y.; Adam Kushner of Puyallup, Wash.; and sisters-in-law Diane Kushner of Derby, N.Y. and Jane Kushner of Buffalo, N.Y.

Numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and special friends also survive her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 22 years, Joseph M. Londino; her parents, John and Mary (Kaczmarczyk) Kushner; sisters, Margie Kushner and Helen Cooper; and brothers, Joe Kushner and Johnny Kushner.

<B>LONDINO</B> - Viewing for Marion Kushner Londino, who died Monday will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at ROBERT PETERS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in New Kensington. Those attending the Mass are asked to meet at the church. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Arnold.In lieu of flowers, donations may be submitted in her memory to the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church Memorial Fund, New Kensington; or to the Highlands Area Rotary Club.Her legacy will live in the lives of those she touched with her courage, strength, compassion and generous spirit. Her children will especially remember her for the loving gift of faith that she instilled in them and that her life so clearly exemplified.Do not mourn me for I have not left you.
