Verdella Stang Majors
Verdella Blanche Stang Majors, 88, of New Sewickley Township, Beaver County, died Tuesday at her home.
Born Dec. 18, 1916, in New Sewickley Township, she was a daughter of Adam and Ada Henry Stang.
She retired from the former Westinghouse Corp., Vanport, Beaver County.
Mrs. Majors was a member of the New Sewickley Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Homemakers Club.
Surviving are four sons and daughters-in-law, Dewayne H. and Jean Majors of Harmony, Clifford C. and Anita B. Majors of Knoxville, Tenn., and Dale A. and Sandra Majors and Gale E. and Judy Majors, all of New Sewickley Township; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy L. and Les Bonzo of New Sewickley Township and Donna L. and Alan Dietrick of Azusa, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She also is survived by a sister, Zelda M. Parks; a brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Katie Stang, all of New Sewickley Township, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy C. "Buck" Majors, who died in 1982; a grandson, Charles R. Majors; three sisters, Hazel Seyboth, Gladys Barto and Pearl Mengel; and a brother, Charles W. Stang.
MAJORS - Friends of Verdella Blanche Stang Majors, who died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at WILLIAM MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 349 Adams St., Rochester. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at New Sewickley Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Ronald Kronk officiating.
