Sylvia W. Stuebgen Markey, 98, formerly of Leechburg, died Tuesday at 3:50 p.m. at the Saxony Health Center, Saxonburg.

She was born May 30, 1907, in Saxonburg to Julius and Amelia Behning Stuebgen.

Mrs. Markey worked for 27 years on the bottling lines at the Schenley plant of the Joseph S. Finch Co. She was also a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Leechburg.

She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, flowers and crossword puzzles.

Mrs. Markey is survived by one daughter, Maxine Heckman; one brother, Ardell Stuebgen of Hollidaysburg; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude C. Markey, who died Sept. 16, 1977; one daughter; three sisters; and two brothers.

MARKEY - Friends of Sylvia W. Markey who died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2005, will be received from 11 a.m. Sunday until the time of the funeral services at 1 p.m. at CLAWSONS FUNERAL HOME, 170 Main St., Leechburg, with the Rev.
