<b>Michael Lewis</b>, son of Daniel and Karen Lewis of Butler, entered the delayed entry program for the Air Force on Feb. 15 and shipped out to basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, on Oct. 11.Lewis is a 2004 graduate of Butler High School and the protective services program of the Butler County Vocational-Tech School. He also attended Butler County College.———

Lt. Col. <b>Paul Yingling</b>, a 1984 graduate of Pine-Richland High School, was promoted to his present rank on Oct. 1. He is currently serving his second tour in Iraq.———

Navy Seaman Recruit <b>Robert Grossman</b>, son of Sheri L. Piper of Slippery Rock and Jeffery E. Grossman of Altoona, recently completed U.S. basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.Grossman is a 2005 graduate of Altoona High School.———

Marine Corps Cpl. <b>Eric Langett</b>, son of Laura and David Langett of Butler, recently was promoted to his current rank while serving with Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 14, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, N.C.Langett joined the Marine Corps in September 2002.
