Jerry 'JD' Flowers

Jerry "JD" Flowers, 54, of Zelienople died suddenly Thursday at his home.

He was born Dec. 13, 1950, in Jamestown, Tenn., the son of Billie June Flowers Fitzgerald of Fairborn, Ohio and Herbert D. Flowers.

Mr. Flowers was an Air Force veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Zelienople American Legion Post 474, Harmony Moose Lodge 957, and the Hungarian Beneficial Society in Zelienople. He was a skilled auto painter, having painted a car on display in a museum in Arizona. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycles and restoring cars.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia M. Flowers; three daughters, Sherri Rae McLauglin of Georgia, Ashley Flowers, and Shawna Flowers, both of Florida; two sons, Jerry D. Flowers Jr. of Florida and Zachary Flowers of Zelienople; two step-children, Joseph Pierce of Chicago and Jessica Pierce of Zelienople; his mother; a sister, Sue Crady of Florida; and four grandchildren.

<B>FLOWERS</B> - Friends of Jerry "JD" Flowers, who died Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at GLENN-KILDOO FUNERAL HOME, 219 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. A blessing service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert M. Miller, pastor of St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be in Pinewood Memorial Gardens, Cranberry Township. Memorial donations may be made to St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church, 2 West Beaver St., Zelienople, PA 16063.
