Phillip V. Harrity

Phillip V. Harrity, 49, of Sarver died Friday at Sunnyview Home.

Born March 20, 1956, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Georgetta Besser Harrity and the late James E. Harrity

He attended the Sarver Wesleyan Methodist Church.

Mr. Harrity was a program assistant at Valley Community Services and also was a bus driver for Mark Lines and the Bauman Bus Co. He enjoyed camping and fishing.

He was a former member of the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company and West Deer No. 1 Volunteer Fire Company, the Butler County Fire Police and the Pennsylvania Fire Police.

He had been the assistant scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 504 and the scoutmaster for Troop 551. He also had been a camp master for Boy Scout Camp Guyasuta in Sharpsburg.

Surviving are his wife, Joanne Young Harrity, whom he married Oct. 23, 1982; a son, Phillip J. Harrity of Sarver; his mother of Saxonburg; and a brother, Paul G. Harrity of Sarver.

A brother preceded him in death.

HARRITY - Friends of Phillip V. Harrity, who died Friday, Oct. 14, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at FOX FUNERAL HOME, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jonathan Troyer officiating.Memorial donations may be made to Camp Guyasuta, 300 23rd St., Sharpsburg, PA 15215; or to the Buffalo EMS, 663 Ekastown Road, Sarver, PA 16055.
