Deborah R. Phillippi

Deborah R. Phillippi, 72, of Cranberry Township, formerly of Richland Township, died Oct. 22 at Family Hospice Manor.

Born Aug. 6, 1933, in Nyack, N.Y., she was the daughter of W. Roland and Eleanor Frances Lewis Smith.

She graduated from West Penn Nursing School and was a registered nurse. She was an originator of the Richland Township EMS, where she worked as an emergency medical technician and business manager.

Mrs. Phillippi was instrumental with Ready Care in Richland Township and did private nurse duty with West Penn Hospital, Vincentian Home and Valencia Woods Nursing Home. She also assisted with summer work at the Chautauqua Institution.

Her husband, Capt. Jack K. Phillippi, preceded her in death.

Surviving are three sons, Jay Douglas Phillippi of New York, Guy David Phillippi of California and Todd Rowland Phillippi of Texas; a sister, Dorothy Dexter Smith of California; a brother, Dean Rowland of Texas, and six grandchildren.

PHILLIPPI — A memorial service for Deborah R. Phillippi, who died Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005, will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the St. Thomas in the Field Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Dan Crawford officiating. Burial will follow at St. Thomas in the Field Columbarium. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas in the Field Episcopal Church, 4106 St. Thomas Drive, Gibsonia, PA 15044; or to the West Penn Nurses Alumni, 4900 Friendship Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15224.Cremation services were entrusted to SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, Richland Township.Please pay tribute at www.schellhaasfh.com.
