Gary S. Clark

Gary S. Clark,

69, of 116 Stalker Road, Hilliards, died at 7:30 a.m. Monday at his home.

Born in Rimersburg, Aug. 11, 1936, he was the son of the late John W. and Gretta Stewart Clark.

He was an electrician and retired from the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center on Sept. 1, 1998, after 20 years. He formerly worked out of Local 1319 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in Wilkes-Barre and was a member of the local.

Mr. Clark was a former member of the Rimersburg United Church of Christ. He was a member the Clarion Eagles Lodge and the Chicora Moose Lodge and was a past president and former secretary of the Eau Claire Volunteer Fire Department.

He enjoyed outdoors sports, hunting and fishing and was one of the founding members and a past officer of the Clarion County Campers Club in Cook Forest.

He was a 13-year Navy veteran and served during the Korean War and Vietnam War periods. He was a past commander of the Hilliard VFW Post 7840 and for years served as the post adjutant. He also belonged to the Chicora American Legion Post.

Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Buzzard Clark, whom he married March 20, 1962; two sons, Shon M. Clark of Kittanning and Rick S. Clark of Orlando, Fla.; a daughter, Mrs. David (Crystal) Porch of Butler; his stepmother, Isabel Clark of Rimersburg; two brothers, Thomas and Raymond Clark, both of Rimersburg; and a sister, Mrs. Rick (Mary Beth) Flick of Rimersburg.

He also is survived by three grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Two brothers preceded him in death.

CLARK — Friends of Gary S. Clark, who died Monday, Nov. 14, 2005, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Sherry Cook, pastor of the Fenelton United Methodist Church, officiating.
