Josephine Marie Podobensky

Josephine Marie Podobensky, 82, of Butler died Monday at the Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born April 16, 1923, in Butler, she was a daughter of Pasquale and Victoria Scarda Pollifrone.

She was a homemaker, and she enjoyed cooking, baking, going to flea markets and going to garage sales.

Mrs. Podobensky was an active member of St. Michael Ukrainian Catholic Church in Lyndora. She helped in baking and food preparation for her parish.

She was a member of the Highfield Community Center.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Victoria Podobensky) Weitzel of Butler; a brother, Louis Pollifrone of Butler; two sisters, Rose Larson of Butler and Clarie Klein of San Jose, Calif.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Podobensky was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Podobensky, who died Aug. 25, 1979. She also was preceded in death by a son, five brothers and one sister.

<B>PODOBENSKY</B> — Friends of Josephine Marie Podobensky, who died Monday, Nov. 14, 2005, will be received at the GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St. from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael Ukrainian Catholic Church in Lyndora with the Rev. Douglas Lorance officiating. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park.Parastas services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
