Anna Suchy

Anna Suchy, 92, of Sunnyview Nursing Home, died Sunday at Sunnyview. She formerly lived on Kohler Avenue in Lyndora and at the YWCA.

Born Feb. 11, 1913, in Simpson, she was a daughter of Frank and Mary Russin Stasko.

She was a retired homemaker; and as a young lady, she had been a seamstress at the Spaide Shirt Factory. She also had been the cook for the Holy Trinity Monastery summer camp.

Mrs. Suchy was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora. She also was a member of the Ladies Guild of the church.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Nastasi of Butler; a son and his companion, Donald M. Suchy and Nancy Taylor of Chilcott, Calif.; and a sister, Mrs. Mary Fizer of Lyndora.

Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Tara, Stephen, Michael and Stephanie Suchy, Dominique Nastasi Haibach and her husband, Vincent, James M. Nastasi and his wife, Patricia, Gregory P. Nastasi, Juliann Nastasi Monteleone and her husband Mark, and Philip F. Nastasi; four great-grandchildren, Nichole, Dillon, Cameron, and Clayton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was the widow of Michael "Shorty" Suchy, who died Nov. 22, 1975. Two brothers, Michael and Paul Stasko, also preceded her in death.

<B>SUCHY</B> — There will be no visitation. Funeral services for Anna Suchy, who died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora with the Rev. Dennis Bogda officiating. Cremation services are provided by the GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sunnyview Nursing Home, the Butler YWCA, or the Hospice program of the Visiting Nurses Association, 154 Hindman Road, Butler, PA 16001.Please visit the funeral home web site at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
