Rosemary M. Callihan

Rosemary M. Callihan, 80, of Chicora died at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in Chicora, Dec. 6, 1924, she was the daughter of Joseph and Mildred McKenzie.

She worked at Ultra Penn for a number of years and was a receptionist for Dr. Ernest P. Molchany in Chicora for 25 years. She was also employed at the Vista Royale at the Chicora Medical Center for 10 years until her retirement.

Mrs. Callihan was a 1942 graduate of Chicora High School and a graduate of the Butler Business School.

She was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and the Chicora Senior Center. She also enjoyed playing cards.

Mrs. Callihan is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Mary Jo) Straney of Butler and Deborah S. Callihan of Northumberland; a son, Kevin L. Callihan of Karns City; a sister, Mrs. Dean (Peg) Bell of Butler; a brother, William McKenzie of Monaca; four grandchildren; a stepgranddaughter; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip "Pete" Callihan, whom she married May 22, 1947, and who died April 10, 1986.

<B>CALLIHAN</B> — Friends of Rosemary M. Callihan, who died Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, 111 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora. Additional visiting hours will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2217 Chicora Road, Chicora. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from the church with the Rev. James A. Higgins officiating. Burial will be in Hemphill Cemetery, Chicora.
