Young dancer tours with Rockettes

NEW BETHLEHEM, Clarion County— When she isn't dancing professionally with the Radio City Rockettes, Olivia Paige Gourley, 12, is a typical pre-teen girl.

She enjoys talking on the telephone, playing with her younger sister, jumping on the trampoline and swimming in the family pool in New Bethlehem, Clarion County, during the summer.

However, for the second consecutive year, Olivia performed the roles of young girls in the Christmas vignettes that make up the touring Rockettes' holiday spectacular.

At the age of 3, Olivia began taking dance lessons under Patty Hildebrand. After three years with her, Olivia began lessons with Dayna Shay-Sear, an instructor and choreographer who she has been with for six-years.

Having danced competitively since she was 9 years old, Olivia has received numerous awards, including Petite Miss Dance of Pennsylvania and Junior Dancer of the Year.

Last year, Olivia made her debut with the Rockettes'

in Denver. This Christmas season she performed in productions in Charlotte, N.C., and Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Her parents, Bob and Sue Gourley, travel to all of her performances.

After high school, the aspiring Broadway star plans to attend college and study dance.
