Ruth Loraine Northedge Jones, 85, of 20 Orchard Drive, Grove City, died at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the United Community Hospital in Pine Township, Mercer County.

Born Oct. 12, 1920, in Steubenville, Ohio, she was the daughter of Robert and Eva Ray Tilton.

She taught elementary school in the Steubenville school system for more than 30 years.

Mrs. Jones was a member of the La Belle View Church of Christ in Steubenville.

She is survived by her husband, John W. Jones of Tavares, Fla.; a daughter, Lynn Francisco and her husband, Joseph, of Slippery Rock; a son, Ronald Northedge and his wife, Janie, of Mays Landing, N.J.; a step-son, Frederick Northedge of Warren, Ohio; a sister, Eleanor Meighen of Dayton, Ohio; four grandchildren, Jason Northedge, Jessica Baur, Joseph Francisco and Caitlin Northedge, and a niece, Joy Jackson and her husband, Bill.

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald F. Northedge, who died April 23, 1986, and a grandson, Jerame Joseph Francisco.

JONES — Friends of Ruth Loraine Northedge Jones, who died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005, will be received from noon until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Saturday at the MOSTI FUNERAL HOME, 4435 Sunset Boulevard, Steubenville, Ohio.
