Chancey A. Kepple

Chancey A. Kepple, 89, of Sugarcreek Township, Armstrong County, died Friday at the Armstrong Center for Medicine and Health, the former Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.

Born Feb. 1, 1916, in Sugarcreek Township, he was the son of George P. and Sadie Bowser Kepple.

He was a 1934 graduate of East Brady High School, and he also graduated from Duffs Iron City Business College in Pittsburgh.

He owned and operated the Kittanning Hollow Farm for 40 years.

He was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in East Brady.

Mr. Kepple was a drill sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII.

Mr. Kepple is survived by a son, George R. Kepple and his wife, Marsha, of Sugarcreek Township; two brothers, Frank R. Kepple of Sugarcreek Township and Fred P. Kepple of Van Wirt, Ohio; a sister, Helen Buckley of Parker; two grandchildren, David Kepple of Sugarcreek Township and Mrs. Eric (Krista) Ritzert of Chicora; and a great-granddaughter, Addison Ritze.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances E. Rea Kepple, whom he married March 29, 1945, and who died Feb. 2. 2002; and a brother, Stanley Kepple.

KEPPLE - Friends of Chancey A. Kepple, who died Friday, Dec. 9, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the CHARLES B. BUECHELE FUNERAL HOME and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Sugarcreek Township. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Peter E. Sears of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church and the Rev. Randall J. Forester of St. Paul United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Sugarcreek Township.Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 10 Duff Road, Suite 304, Pittsburgh, PA 15235-3207.
